Van Cleef Seven Seas jewellery
Most recently, one of the most luxurious and famous jewelry houses Van Cleef & Arpels presented the new Seven Seas jewellery collection. The collection was so successful that is now considered worthy to enter the history of fine jewelry. Presented in Paris Van Cleef jewels were created by artists inspired by the sea wanderings, so the collection is called «Seven Seas». It is noteworthy that the same title have poetic works of the famous storyteller traveler Rudyard Kipling. Seven Seas – Black, Caspian, Mediterranean, Red, Arabic, Adriatic and Atlantic and Indian oceans – defined the mood of refined intricate jewelry.
Jewellery brand Van Cleef has always been characterized by bright colors in jewelry, they never restrict the use of certain diamonds. White cultured pearls, blue, pink and yellow sapphires, garnets, diamonds, emerald, turquoise, lapis lazuli, aquamarine – all these stones were used to create collections before. But the combination of these stones got a new sound in the “Seven seas”.
Costume jewelery gained not only aqua colors, but the forms of sea inhabitants. The designers did not forget the fact that the sea is the coast as well. Among the decorations dedicated to the Mediterranean is, for example, stunningly beautiful convertible coral necklace of flamingos.
The key idea of the collection to present the wealth of forms and traditions, stones, techniques, patterns, styles, in the sea theme. Nature, one of the Van Cleef & Arpels’ major sources of inspiration
It is remarkable that today the masters of fine jewelry are trying to surprise the audience not only by the luxury and wealth of products, but a flight of fancy, amazing design solutions and demonstration of a truly sophisticated taste.
From peaceful shores to the open sea, from foaming breakers to crystalline expanses, Van Cleef & Arpels has let its gaze drift to the far horizon.
The pink flamingo here seems to spread its wings around the neck in a delicate pastel embrace. The bird’s body – remarkable for its curved volume clad in ethereal feathers – can become a clip, in keeping with the Maison’s tradition of transformable pieces.
Attracted by the joyous and colorful allure of birds, Van Cleef & Arpels has often paid tribute to them in its creations. The pink flamingo, that graceful inhabitant of the Mediterranean shoreline, is adorned here with pink sapphires and diamonds.
This long necklace features a seahorse motif decorated with a gradation of sapphires and cabochon-cut chalcedony. White cultured pearls and onyx beads subtly come together around the motif, reflecting the duality attributed to the creature represented: half-horse, half-fish.
White cultured pearls, onyx, sapphires, moonstone, diamonds.
