Unique handmade Sajen costume jewelry
In the mid-1980s, American jewelers Richard and Marianne Jacobs, inspired by Indonesian and Balinese ethnic ornaments, created their own Sajen line of jewelry. Translated from Indonesian, “Sajen” means “offer”. An amazing brand of jewelry, Sajen has grown into a whole stylistic direction, combining the European vintage style and aesthetics of Indonesia.
Completely different from what was done in the 1980s, Sajen is not cheap chic, plastic and pompous. Traditionally, the craftsmen use only natural stones, and both stones and their combinations are quite rare. Also, beautiful cut, author drawings and engravings, which gives a feeling of something lunar, alien, and at the same time very organically accepted here on Earth.
Richard is a talented artist, a graduate of the Yale School of Art, Marianne is a designer. Both of them are creative, active, successful and very talented people. Their production is unique, the ideas are amazing. And each product is made by hand in a single copy, with love and high skill!
Now Marianna and Richard are working for Richline to create luxury jewelry, and Sajen products become collectibles found only in vintage boutiques and private collections.
