Signed Paradise Vintage Costume Jewelry

Founded in 1972 in Akron, Ohio, Aubrey McDonald Creations (formerly Paradise Jewelry Inc) was a costume jewelry manufacturer for 25 years. The company ceased to exist in 1997. It was a family-owned business founded and operated by Paul L. Buzzie (1918-2004), Carol Ann Mosteller (1947-1984), and James Arthur Mosteller (b. 1944). The company produced costume jewelry under two brand names – Paradise (1972-1997) and Aubrey Creations (1983-1988).

Handcrafting classic bracelets, brooches, earrings, and necklaces, the jewelers used high-quality materials, various metals and their alloys, cultured pearls, rhinestones, enamel, and glass. The manufacturer’s mark includes the word “Paradise” in capital letters on an oval cartouche.

Noteworthy, the oldest Paradise trademark for pearl jewelry was used by Abraham Rolnick, New York since January 1924. In addition, Cojeva, Inc., New York also used the Paradis trademark since August 1961 for costume jewelry, imitation pearls, and beaded necklaces. However, the style of both marks and logos differs from the Ohio-based Paradise Jewelry Inc.
