Signed Mystique vintage costume jewelry
The history of the American costume jewelry brand Mystique began in 1982 and lasted for about two decades. Registered in Brooklyn, Mystique Accessories, Inc. ceased to exist in 1999. Along with jewelry, the company was engaged in the production of accessories – hairpins and ornaments, buttons, lace, embroidery, hooks, needles, artificial flowers, etc.
When creating jewelry, the company’s craftsmen used gold and silver plating, pewter, metal alloys, onyx, faux pearls, and art glass imitating natural stones. The style and design of Mystique jewelry ranges from Art Nouveau to fashionable and whimsical designs. What this actually means is that the company employed several jewelry designers who handcrafted their unique pieces from start to finish.
The marking on the back of the products includes “Mystique” in capital letters and a copyright sign on an oval cartouche. Today, jewelry with the Mystique signature is a rarity and has collectible value.
