Signed AG Abbott Gotshall Modernist Jewelry (1950-70s)
Massachusetts-born Abbott Gotshall (1906-1988) was a renowned American silversmith, jewelry designer, and artist who worked in the style of the Arts and Crafts movement. Gotshall and his wife Bertha Gotshall (1912-2011) founded their family business in the late 1940s. Their silver jewelry workshop in Sandwich, New Hampshire operated for nearly three decades.
Handcrafted in limited quantities and marked with the stylized letters “AG,” these pieces are rare and highly collectible. Lovers of mid-century modernist jewelry and vintage collectors especially appreciate the snowflake pendants and brooches, skillfully crafted in sterling silver. Equally interesting are jewelry pieces inspired by Celtic motifs, Irish symbols, birds, animals, and plants.
