Residents of this place have witnessed an unusual phenomenon – Hawaiian Olivine mineral rain

Hawaiian Olivine mineral rain
Once, residents of Hawaii witnessed an unusual phenomenon – a rain of green minerals. In fact, this exciting “kaleidoscope effect” happened due to the eruption of the Kilauea volcano. As a result, beautiful green translucent pebbles – olivine – fell from the sky.
Olivine, caused by the eruption, is a typical high-temperature mineral widely presented in the Earth’s mantle. Jewelry variety of olivine is chrysolite, and it is quite rare in nature. Olivine is one of the most common minerals on Earth.
According to some estimates, more than 50% of the Earth’s upper mantle consists of this mineral or its variations. Nevertheless, the olivine falling from the sky is a rather rare phenomenon.
On Kilauea, lava usually flows out slowly enough, only occasionally small, but sharp bursts occur. The sudden release of lava into the air led to the precipitation of olivine: its particles fell into the air and quickly crystallized.
However, this is not the first “miracle” accompanying the eruption of Kilauea. Earlier, near the volcano, eyewitnesses noticed a blue flame that appeared due to the accumulation of methane.

The history of Italian jewelry trademark Coppola e Toppo began in the late 1940s in Milan, founded by brother and sister Bruno Coppola and Lyda Toppo. Originally, they made jewelry under the name of their favorite dog Mickey. However, the quick and loud success of the company made them use Coppola e Toppo marking. First, Parisian fashion houses Dior and Balenciaga used the company’s jewelry work in fashion shows and retail sales. In addition, Elsa Schiaparelli commissioned a collection “Bijou Voyagers” made of faux coral. Next, they created collections for iconic Italian couturiers Gucci and Valentino.
The number of works signed “Made in Italy Coppola e Toppo” increased significantly. The company’s designers began using crystals, Murano glass and plastic beads in ornaments. Also, they used gilded metal, silver, and faux pearls.
In 1972 a large Italian company absorbed Coppola e Toppo and continued the production of jewelry signed Coppola e Toppo until 1986.

Stanley Hagler Jewelry designer Ian St Gielar
Most jewelry experts associate Hagler’s company with the names of three great designers. In particular, Stanley Hagler himself (since the 1950s), Mark Mercy (since 1979) and Ian St. Gielar (since 1989). In 1983 Stanley Hagler moved his company to Florida and Mark Mercy followed with him. In 1989, the talented designer Ian St. Gielar joined and stayed with them until 1993.
Meanwhile, Stanley Hagler himself continued to create until 1994, but had to retire for health reasons. Up until the death of Hagler in 1996, it was Florida based jewelry designer Ian St. Gielar who worked as the chief designer at Stanley Hagler.
Later, he founded his own company and produced jewelry both under his own name and under the trademark “Stanley Hagler NY.”
Meanwhile, after the death of Hagler, his assistants Mark Mercy and Ian St. Gielar began to fight for the company, slandering each other. Of course, there were many stories, rumors, gossips and mutual accusations. Until now, there are two, not similar to each other, histories of the creation and development of the brand, told by opponents.
