Born in 1890 in Salzburg, Austria, Nettie Rosencrans became famous American fashion and jewellery designer. Her parents moved to Harlem, New York while she was a young child. There, Nettie married businessman Saul Rosenstein who ran a women’s underwear business (1913).
Soon, under the surname of her husband she and her sister began career in the fashion world. First, it was a hat business. In the early 1930s, Nettie founded a new company, and significantly expanded the family business. Her company manufactured clothes, linens, bags, perfumes and costume jewelry. As a result, the talented designer received the Neiman Marcus Fashion Award for her collection in 1938.
Meanwhile, the designer’s creations grew in price, reaching hundreds of dollars, crazy prices for those times! Also, in 1947, Nettie received another prestigious fashion award – Coty Award. Noteworthy, in 1953 the designer created a dress for the first US lady for the inauguration ceremony of the president.

Born in 1950 in Milan, Italy, Franco Moschino – the famous Italian designer. Moschino had established his own brand in 1983, after many years of work (for 11 years) as an illustrator for Giorgio Armani. He started with jeans and clothes for special celebrations, then developed models of shoes, lingerie, evening dresses and costume jewellery. Well known that Moschino loved “provocation” and approached with irony and humor in his design. He sold his ornaments under the brand name “Moschino Bijoux”.
Franco Moschino died in 1994, and Rosella Giardini, who had worked with him for many years, became a designer of the brand.

Born in 1938, Ralph Massey is a talented American artist, sculptor and jewelry designer. Prior to the 1980s, in his work he preferred sculpture. However, in the early 1980s, together with the artist Sylvia Benneth, he opened the art studio “Raven”. And since that time, the main direction in his creativity, has become the creation of jewelry decorations and jewelry boxes.
The most interesting collection was “Wildlife”, brooches, earrings and rings in the form of animals and birds. Also, no less interesting was the line of jewellery inspired by the characters of the books “Alice in Wonderland” and “The Wizard of Oz.”
However, in the early 1990s, Massey closed his workshop “Raven” and focused exclusively on painting. All the works of Ralph Massey are rather rare and are appreciated by collectors.

Born in Italy, Benedetto Panetta moved to America in 1901 and wrote his name in the history of jewelry. Being a jeweler, he first worked in small companies. Thanks to a fateful meeting with a fellow countryman, Benedetto became a designer at Trifari.
Having received invaluable experience, Benedetto opened his company “Panetta” in 1945. From the very beginning, he set a goal, to erase the line between precious jewelry and costume jewelry. According to Panetta, ornaments should look real. And Benedetto succeeded in it. His handcrafted jewelry pieces look precious and exquisite.
After the death of Benedetto in 1960, his sons Amadeo and Armand continued the family business. However, the company ceased to exist in the late 1980s.
Noteworthy, in the middle of the 20th century, the products of the brand adorned celebrities and even the First Lady.

However, the history of the Sonia Rykiel brand begins in 1962, when Madame Rykiel, the future mother, could not choose any outfit from what the Parisian shops offered for pregnant women. So, the talented and creative Rykiel decided to take it in her hands.
Then followed first knitted sweaters, clothes for women… and gradually developed a design of jewelry to her clothing line.
According to Sonia Rykiel, the main goal was – to dress every woman beautifully. Costume jewellery created by her is still in demand thanks to the wonderful taste and sense of harmony of the designer.

In particular, Van Dell 1/20 12K GF, or Van Dell Sterling, and simply Van Dell. The company went through ups and downs, including changes of owners. Noteworthy, the last owner of registered in 1991 Van Dell trademark was Bidz.com, Inc. However, another trademark information states that since 1991 the owner of trademark was Richline Group, Inc. According to both sources, Van Dell ceased operations in 2016.
