Ilya Palkin jewelry design studio
Kostroma, Russia based jewelry company founded by Ilya Palkin and his wife Vera create unique jewelry based on Slavic and folk motifs. In their creative duo, Vera is responsible for the design and Ilya embodies her ideas into life. The gallery of their jewellery works include Russian fairy tale designs. Among them flowering fern, a rupture-grass, Yaril-sun, owls and birds, smiling snakes, fish, cats and hares, etc. Meanwhile, each piece, whether it’s a bird or just a nameless character, is anthropomorphic in some ways and certainly animate.
Graduates of the Krasnoselsky College of artistic metalworking, Ilya and Vera use the elements of Russian folk embroidery and wood carvings.
However, the style in which artists-jewelers work can vary, from ethnics, animalism, and steampunk. As a rule, they produce their ornaments by collections, thought out in a single style. For example, “Summer”, “Africa” and so on. The main metal is silver, but goldsmiths also use gold, hot enamel, precious and semiprecious stones.
