2013 Sotheby`s auction estimated some pieces of her jewelry at hundreds thousands of dollars. However, emeralds and diamonds of the actress are not the most expensive in her collection. Thus, the approximate cost of her vintage pearl earrings – one million dollars. According to the hostess, they once belonged to the Habsburg dynasty.

Once, during her stay in Cuba, when Gina interviewed Fidel Castro, she had a gold Piaget watch with diamonds. The leader of the Cuban Revolution liked it so much that offered to exchange it for his military chronograph. Gina has always loved expensive jewelry and loves now, but wears it only on special occasions.

Beginning in 1970, she left the stage to become a sculptor. “The sculptor does not need jewelry” – said Gina Lollobrigida on the eve of the auction. In addition, the famous Italian needed funds for charity. Finally, she chose 23 subject to auction: jewelry for social receptions and “every day” decorations.

Her collection of jewelry is quite famous. In 1950-1960-s, at the peak of her acting fame, she adored Bvlgari jewellery. Many of these Bvlgari pieces appeared at its exhibition “125 years of Italian luxury.”

At the Moscow display were exhibited natural pear-shaped earrings with pearls by Bvlgari 1964. According to legend, the pearls once belonged to the royal house of Habsburg (estimate: $ 600). Earrings and brooch with emeralds and diamonds can be seen on the set of photos of the actress (for $ 150-250 thousand). All the decorations were made in one piece.

Gina felt special affection for the Italian brand Bulgari, that’s why most items presented in the auction are by this brand. “I love pearls and emeralds, and all precious stones. Each piece in my collection – a true work of art, made by the hands of these jewelry artists”, – said Gina.
