German vintage – DRGM Jewellery
Noteworthy, DRGM is an abbreviation for the German patent mark – Deutsches Reichs Gebrauchs Muster. According to sources, it was Pforzheim, Germany based jewelry manufacturer Schreiber & Hiller who registered DGRM in 1930.
Although the brand “DRGM” is better known for various products: watches, toys, bottle openers, cameras, etc, yet, the jewelry of the firm “DRGM” also deserves attention. In fact, many German jewelry manufacturers used this brand for their products. Traditionally, DRGM jewelry is made of transparent rock crystal and zinc alloys, and often covered with rhodium. Also, most products have clearly defined geometric shapes and are created in Art Deco and Early Art Nouveau styles.
The company appears to have ceased production during the Second World War. Indeed, it’s impossible to find an original 1930s piece with this desirable DRGM mark.
