Born January 1, 1867, in Paris, Jeanne Lanvin grew up in an ordinary family. Since childhood, she has shown interest in the sewing business, and later she became the first fashion designer – a woman.
Noteworthy, the history of the famous brand began in 1889. She participated in international exhibitions and, in 1926, was awarded the Order of the Legion of Honor. Her work is a separate world, sophisticated and elegant.
Lanvin distinguishes from other designers by the unsurpassed craftsmanship and luxury of its products. Among Jeanne’s clients were famous actresses, singers and high-ranking personalities.
In 1946, Jeanne Lanvin dies. And in 1958 her daughter died. There are no direct heirs left, and therefore, Jeanne’s nephew, Yves Lanvin, begins to manage the company.
