English jewellery company Sphinx
Founded in 1948 in the UK, English jewellery company Sphinx has become famous for their exquisite costume jewellery of high quality. Beautifully designed ornaments looked like real jewels. The quality of jewelry was so high, that the company began to produce jewellery exclusively for such brands and stores as Kenneth Jay Lane, Butler & Wilson, Saks 5th Ave., Neiman Marcus, and Bloomingdale’s. Noteworthy, marked Sphinx products appeared only at the beginning of the 1960s. In fact, Sphinx costume jewellery is highly appreciated by the collectors of vintage jewellery, as the company ceased operations in the late 1990s.
