Lara van Schaik has been always passionate about Art Deco and Retro jewelry art. A professional gemologist, she owns her online boutique “La Chatelaine Jewelry”. The boutique sells exquisite high-quality jewelry, in particular, French and Dutch jewels of 1900-1960s period.
Thanks to French locals, who called her La Chatelaine, her web boutique got such an appropriate name.
Noteworthy, La chatelaine means “Lady of the Manor” or “Key holder”, and she is both. Thus, Lara van Schaik runs a 18th century chateau located in Burgundy, which she rents out for weddings and parties.
Born into the family of antique jewelry dealer (her mum), Lara grew up with some knowledge and love for jewelry. Finally, she turned her life passion into a jewelry company. Traditionally, she finds her treasures in Paris and in the French countryside, auctions, and exhibitions.
