The unique Cyvra jewelry brand appeared in the 1950s in Topanga, California and ceased to exist in 1960s. It was a family business created by talented American artists Vera and Cyril Wood. Vera Wood grew up in England, and this probably determined the direction of their jewelry design. In particular, mythical creatures traditional for England, magical sea fish, mermaids, elves and mythological monsters.
Traditionally, designers used their own wax casting method, achieving detailed rendering. It was incredibly delicate work with the use of silver and gold. Also, artists often used abalone of sea shells. Due to their high quality work, designers made many products for well-known brands, such as Cassini, Tortolani, Hime, Ruser, and Volupte. Noteworthy, the artists produced their decorations in small quantities. Accordingly, rarely found on sale, Cyvra jewelry brand products are in high demand among the lovers of vintage costume jewelry.
