If ten years ago someone had told Pivovarova, simple Muscovite, she would be known all over the world, she wouldn’t probably have believed. According to Sasha, she never dreamed of becoming a model. Instead, she wanted to become a painter and after school entered the Department of Art History of the Russian Humanitarian University.
Pivovarova fell in love with the artist and photographer Igor Vishnyakov. He convinced her that she is beautiful, and just born for the podium.
Then he had to convince modeling agencies. The photographer decided not to waste time, having sent his favorite photos to the best-known New York modeling agency IMG. And after only two weeks, 20-year-old Sasha Pivovarova has opened the Prada show at Fashion Week in Milan in 2005. Six consecutive seasons (unprecedented!) she was the face of the Italian brand.
Called the “extraterrestrial” – for unconventional beauty, Sasha is 30 today. And she, just like Kate, won all the vertices that one could conquer in the modeling business. The portfolio includes shows of the most famous fashion houses. Her face adorned leading glossy magazines of the world.
However, fame has not spoiled Pivovarova – she remains the same as she was – a modest, sincere and natural. Supermodel does not smoke and does not drink alcohol. Adheres to vegetarianism and of all beverages she prefers Chinese green tea. Engaged in kung fu and still interested in painting, dreaming someday to open her own gallery in New York. The first major step towards the recognition of artistic talent Sasha has done when illustrated books of Karl Lagerfeld and Miuccia Prada.

Often called an icon of style, Sasha smiles: “My style is very eclectic. I like graphics and multi-layered tissue forms, bright colors. My favorite accessory – a hat, so I have a huge collection of hats.” According to Sasha, she prefers to buy clothes in the boutiques of Prada, Yamamoto, Marc Jacobs, Chanel and Chloé. Also, loves the brand Jan Batista Valli and Rick Owens.
