London-based artist and jewellery designer Adrian Mann founded his namesake company with his wife in 1945. The Mann family business was successful from the start. In the post-war era, women wanted to dress fashionably by adorning themselves with expensive-looking jewellery. Adrian Mann was one of those who restored glamour to Britain after the end of World War II.
His exquisite runway accessories created in the 50s and 60s were a huge success, regularly appearing on the pages of popular fashion magazines, including Harper’s Bazaar. Such legendary European fashion houses of the time as Chanel, YSL, Nina Ricci, and Dior used Adrian Mann jewellery in their fashion shows.
Creating the jewellery by hand, the makers used high-quality materials – gold, lucite, Austrian rhinestones, crystals, baroque and cultured pearls, enamels, and art glass imitating natural stones.
The high quality of Adrian Mann jewellery has stood the test of time, preserving its original beauty and shine. The marking on the back of the pieces included “Modele Adrian Mann London” on an oval cartouche. Today, the brand’s pieces are extremely rare and are collector’s items.
